Vesica

Privacy policy

Last updated 24 September 2026

Short version: we collect only what the app needs to work. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and you can delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.

Who we are

Vesica is run by Jason Rahme, an individual based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Contact: vesica.app@proton.me.

What we collect

Your location

Vesica uses your location on your phone to show events near you. It is not sent to or stored on our servers.

What other people see

People in the same event or chat can see your first name, your profile photo, your bio if you wrote one, your age range (for example “20s”, never your exact age or birthday), whether you’ve verified your phone, and the messages you send there. There is no way to browse or search for people in Vesica.

How we use it

We don’t use your information for advertising and we don’t sell it.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run the app:

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete account), we delete your profile, photo, phone number and activity. Messages you sent in group chats stay in those chats so the conversation still makes sense to others, but they show as “Someone” instead of your name. Reports made about an account are kept for safety reasons.

Age

Vesica is only for people aged 18 and over. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up.

Your choices

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, contact us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
