Short version: be 18 or older, be kind, meet in public, and look after yourself. Vesica helps people find each other for events; it doesn’t run the events or check the people.
About these terms
Vesica is run by Jason Rahme, an individual based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to these terms, our privacy policy and our community guidelines.
Who can use Vesica
- You must be 18 or older.
- Use your real name and a real photo of yourself.
- One account per person. You’re responsible for what happens on your account.
What Vesica is, and isn’t
Vesica is a friendship app for going to events with other people. It is not a dating service.
Public events come from Brisbane City Council open data (licensed under CC BY 4.0). We don’t run them, and details like times and prices can change. Check with the organiser before you go.
Hosted plans are created by other users. We don’t organise, check or supervise them.
Meeting people
We don’t run background checks on anyone. You choose who to meet and you’re responsible for your own safety. Meet in public places, tell a friend where you’re going, and leave if you feel uncomfortable. If someone makes you feel unsafe, block and report them in the app. In an emergency, call 000.
Your content
You own what you post: your photo, profile and messages. You give us permission to store it and show it to other people in the app so Vesica can work. Don’t post anything you don’t have the right to share.
What’s not allowed
Anything that breaks our community guidelines, including harassment, hate, threats, scams, spam, selling, sexual content, and using Vesica for dating or hook-ups.
If things go wrong
We can remove content, or suspend or close accounts, that break these terms or put others at risk. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
Our responsibility
Vesica is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it working and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. As far as the law allows, we’re not responsible for what happens at events or between people who meet through the app.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Changes and law
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
